Heated tobacco study: lower toxins but still not safe?
NCT ID NCT05385055
First seen May 09, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at nearly 1,000 adults aged 30-60 to compare levels of harmful chemicals, oxidative stress, and inflammation in long-term users of a tobacco heating system versus cigarette smokers and those who quit. Participants were grouped based on their smoking or vaping history over the past two years. The goal was to see if switching to heated tobacco reduces exposure to toxins and related health risks.
