Body scans reveal hidden lung changes in COVID-19 survivors
NCT ID NCT04841707
First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study used advanced total-body PET scans to see how COVID-19 affects the lungs' blood-air barrier. Researchers compared 13 adults who had COVID-19 with healthy volunteers, and then followed up with the COVID-19 group four months later. The goal was to understand long-term lung changes, not to test a treatment.
