First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tested whether a numbing gel (ropivacaine) can reduce severe pain during bath and dressing changes for children and young adults (up to age 21) with epidermolysis bullosa, a condition causing fragile skin. Ten participants applied the gel before dressing changes over five days. The goal was to see if pain scores dropped by at least 2 points on a standard pain scale.
