Pancreas cancer surgery showdown: total removal may boost survival
NCT ID NCT06801899
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Aug 13, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looks at whether removing the entire pancreas is better than removing just part of it for people with certain cancers in the head of the pancreas who are at high risk of complications. The main goal is to see if total removal helps patients live longer without hurting their quality of life. About 170 adults will take part, and the only extra steps are two blood tests and filling out questionnaires.
