Scientists scan tongues to understand Obesity's hidden effects
NCT ID NCT07370350
Summary
This study aims to see if ultrasound can reliably measure the tongue's size, fat, and stiffness in children and teens with obesity. Researchers will scan participants' tongues at the start and end of a 30-week inpatient weight-loss program. The goal is to learn if tongue characteristics change with weight loss and relate to sleep apnea symptoms.
