New drug tonabersat tested to fight diabetic eye swelling

Summary
This study tests a drug called tonabersat against a placebo in 128 adults with diabetic macular edema (swelling in the back of the eye) who still have good vision. The main goal is to see if the drug reduces retinal thickness. Participants take the drug or placebo and are monitored for changes over time.
