Wearable tech could open door to early duchenne treatments
NCT ID NCT07423026
First seen Feb 26, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a special ankle-worn device can track how well toddlers with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) move during their normal day. Currently, there is no good way to test new medicines in children under 4 with DMD. The study will involve 30 boys with DMD and 30 without, aged 1-3, who will wear the device for three 28-day periods over six months. The goal is to see if the device is comfortable, reliable, and can detect differences in walking ability, which could help bring new treatments to younger children.
