New hope for hard-to-treat cancers: experimental drug targets MTAP-loss tumors

NCT ID NCT06810544

First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests a new oral drug, TNG456, in people with advanced solid tumors that have lost a gene called MTAP. The drug works by blocking a protein (PRMT5) that these tumors need to grow. The study has two parts: first, finding the safest dose of TNG456 alone or with abemaciclib; second, testing how well it shrinks tumors in specific cancer types. Up to 191 adults whose cancer has worsened after standard treatments may join.
