Magnetic pulses to the brain: a new hope for managing bipolar emotions?

NCT ID NCT04284267

Summary

This study aimed to understand if a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called TMS could help people with bipolar disorder better control their emotions. Researchers compared brain scans of 30 healthy people and 30 people with bipolar disorder while they performed emotion-related tasks. They then used targeted TMS on specific brain areas to see if it improved task performance and brain activity related to emotion regulation.
