Zapping the brain to fight alcohol cravings: new study tests promising technique

Summary

This study tests whether a type of brain stimulation called cTBS can reduce cravings for alcohol in people with alcohol addiction. 34 adults will receive 15 stimulation sessions over 5 days, and researchers will measure changes in their cravings, heart rate, and brain activity. The goal is to find a new way to help people manage their addiction.
