Weight-Loss drug may fight uterine cancer in new trial

NCT ID NCT07078838

Summary

This study is testing if a medication called tirzepatide, which is used for weight loss and diabetes, can slow the growth of abnormal cells in the uterus before a patient's scheduled surgery. It will involve 40 women with obesity who have been diagnosed with a pre-cancerous condition or early-stage endometrial cancer. Researchers will compare tissue samples from women who receive the drug for four weeks before surgery to those who do not, to see if the drug reduces cancer cell growth.
