Weight loss drug trial aims to tame chaotic heartbeats
NCT ID NCT06802081
Summary
This study is testing if a weekly weight-loss medication called Tirzepatide can help people with obesity and a heart rhythm disorder called atrial fibrillation. About 100 participants will receive either Tirzepatide or a placebo for 12 months to see if losing weight leads to better control of their heart condition and fewer symptoms. The goal is to see if managing weight can be an effective part of treating this common heart problem.
