Stroke drug trial aims to boost brain recovery after clot removal

NCT ID NCT07537933

First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving a clot-preventing drug called tirofiban directly into the brain artery right after a clot is removed can help stroke patients recover better. About 344 adults who had a major stroke from a blocked artery will be randomly assigned to receive either the drug or no extra treatment. The main goal is to see if more people can live independently 90 days later, while also checking for any bleeding risks.
