First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study compared two blood thinners—ticagrelor and clopidogrel—in 180 patients with hardened heart arteries undergoing a special cleaning procedure called rotational atherectomy. The goal was to see if ticagrelor could better prevent small blood clots and heart muscle damage during the procedure. Participants were stable heart patients already taking aspirin and clopidogrel before the study.
