New hope for kids whose asthma Doesn't respond to standard steroid inhalers

NCT ID NCT04990167

Summary

This study aimed to test if a non-steroid inhaler (tiotropium) could be a safe and effective alternative to standard steroid inhalers for children aged 6-11 with a specific type of asthma not linked to allergies. The goal was to find a better treatment option for kids who don't respond well to steroids and to avoid steroid side effects. It was a small, short-term pilot study designed to see if a larger trial was feasible, but the study was terminated early.
