New hope for kids with Non-Allergic asthma: could tiotropium replace steroids?

NCT ID NCT04990167

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tested whether tiotropium alone works as well as inhaled steroids for children aged 6-11 with mild, non-allergic asthma. Many children with this type of asthma don't respond well to steroids, so safer options are needed. The study was a small pilot and was terminated early, but it aimed to compare asthma control over 6 weeks.
