Can eating only during a 10-Hour window help protect aging brains?

NCT ID NCT05858008

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study will test whether women with mild cognitive impairment can follow a time-restricted eating plan, where they eat all their food within a 10-hour window each day. The goal is to see if this approach is practical and acceptable for this group. If it works, it could lead to larger studies on whether this simple habit can help slow memory decline.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

time-restricted eating

What this could lead to

If successful, this could point toward a simple lifestyle change that helps slow cognitive decline in women at risk for Alzheimer's disease.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, early feasibility study with only 15 participants, so results may not apply widely. It does not directly measure cognitive improvement, only whether people can stick to the eating schedule.
