Young cancer patients try experimental immune cell treatment

NCT ID NCT04052334

Summary

This early-stage trial tested whether a personalized immune cell therapy is safe for young adults with advanced soft tissue sarcoma. Doctors collected each patient's own tumor-fighting immune cells, grew them in a lab, and then infused them back after a brief chemotherapy treatment. The main goal was to check if this complex process was safe and if the infused cells could survive in the body.
