Summary
This trial compares two surgical techniques for repairing a broken shin bone (tibial shaft fracture) using a metal rod inside the bone. The two approaches—medial parapatellar and transpatellar—differ in how the surgeon reaches the bone. About 56 adults with acute tibial fractures will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods. Recovery is measured at 4 and 8 weeks after surgery by checking leg function, pain levels, and knee movement to see if one approach leads to better early recovery.
