First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether giving levothyroxine (a thyroid hormone) to people with mild underactive thyroid before and after heart bypass surgery can lower the risk of serious heart problems like heart attack, stroke, or irregular heartbeat. About 338 adults will be randomly assigned to receive the hormone or not. The goal is to see if this simple treatment improves recovery and long-term heart health.
