First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving blood-thinning medicine after varicose vein surgery can prevent dangerous blood clots in the legs or lungs. About 6,660 adults having keyhole vein procedures will be randomly assigned to receive either the medicine or a placebo. The goal is to see if the medicine reduces clot risk without causing serious side effects.
