First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study is testing whether giving blood-thinning medicine after varicose vein surgery can prevent dangerous blood clots. About 1 in 50 people develop a clot after this keyhole procedure, which can cause pain, swelling, or even travel to the lungs. Researchers will recruit 6,660 adults to compare standard care with added clot prevention, tracking results for 90 days.
