Summary
This study tested a combination of three chemotherapy drugs (thiotepa, fludarabine, and melphalan) given before a donor stem cell transplant for people with leukemia. The goal was to see if this regimen could help patients stay cancer-free for at least one year after transplant. Forty adults with high-risk leukemia took part. The approach aims to control the disease, not cure it, as patients need lifelong monitoring and possible ongoing treatment.
