Brainwave beats may ease sleep troubles for night shift workers

NCT ID NCT07440264

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether listening to theta brainwave entrainment (a type of binaural beat) combined with natural sounds could improve sleep quality in healthcare shift workers. 34 workers with poor sleep were randomly assigned to receive either the real theta audio or a sham version for 20-30 minutes daily over 14 days. Sleep quality was measured using a questionnaire and brainwave activity. The goal was to see if this simple, non-invasive approach could help without medication.

What this could mean
