Heat-Sensing camera may speed up diagnosis of testicular emergency
NCT ID NCT07324590
First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study explores whether a thermal imaging camera can quickly and noninvasively diagnose testicular torsion in men with sudden scrotal pain. Current methods like ultrasound can cause delays, but thermal imaging may offer a faster alternative. Researchers will compare temperatures of painful and healthy testicles in 150 emergency patients to see if this technique works.
