New therapy aims to shield At-Risk teens from depression

NCT ID NCT06273137

Summary

This study is testing a talk therapy called Positive Affect Therapy (PAT) to see if it can help prevent depression in teenagers who experienced significant hardship or trauma in childhood. Researchers will compare PAT to standard supportive therapy in about 300 teens aged 12-16. The goal is to see if learning to increase positive emotions can reduce future depression risk in this vulnerable group.
