Summary

This study tests two types of talk therapy—individual LGBTQ-affirmative CBT and family-based therapy—delivered online to LGBTQ+ adults (age 20+) who have nonaccepting parents. The goal is to see if these therapies reduce depression and anxiety symptoms. The trial is currently recruiting 124 participants in New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Israel.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide effective therapy options to improve mental health for LGBTQ+ adults facing family rejection.
