Can breaking a negative thought loop protect your heart?
NCT ID NCT05980130
Summary
This small, completed study explored whether a specific type of talk therapy could improve both mental and physical health. It tested Rumination-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (RFCBT), which helps people manage repetitive negative thoughts, in nine low-income adults with mild depression and elevated blood pressure. The main goal was to see if reducing these thought patterns could also lead to improvements in blood pressure and other markers of heart health.
