NCT ID NCT04744298

First seen May 07, 2026 ยท Last updated May 07, 2026

Summary

This study tests a step-by-step care plan for patients with severe breathing failure (ARDS) who need a breathing machine. The plan includes proven treatments like protective ventilation, paralysis, and prone positioning. Researchers want to see if following this plan helps patients spend fewer days on a ventilator and improves survival. About 20,000 adults in Alberta ICUs will take part.
