Summary
This study tested a new treatment for children with a rare type of cancer called yolk sac tumor that had come back or stopped responding to standard chemotherapy. The treatment combined the drug thalidomide with three chemotherapy drugs. The goal was to see if this combination could shrink or control the tumors. The study included 20 children and measured how many had a significant reduction in tumor size or a drop in a key tumor marker.
