Hip surgery study: does muscle injury slow your recovery?

Summary
This study looks at how much a specific hip muscle (the TFL) gets damaged during hip replacement surgery through a front-of-the-hip approach. Researchers want to see if more damage leads to worse short-term recovery. 150 adults getting their first hip replacement for arthritis will be followed for 6 months. The goal is to understand the link between muscle injury and how well patients walk and function after surgery.
