Can a simple text help control diabetes for those without homes?
NCT ID NCT05616026
Summary
This study is testing whether sending supportive text messages can help adults experiencing homelessness manage their type 2 diabetes better. It will involve 100 people in New York City shelter clinics who have uncontrolled diabetes. Researchers will compare a group receiving texts about education, appointments, and medication reminders for 6 months to a control group, checking blood sugar levels and self-care habits over 9 months.
