Texting away the baby blues: simple messages aim to stop depression before it starts

NCT ID NCT06117397

Summary

This study tested whether a simple text messaging program could help prevent depression in pregnant women and new mothers. Researchers sent daily supportive texts, links to helpful videos, and offered a chat with a trained peer to 40 participants who were at risk for depression. The goal was to see if this easy-to-use, accessible support could build confidence and reduce the chance of developing a major depressive episode during or after pregnancy.
