Can a simple text stop cancer from coming back?

NCT ID NCT05570851

Summary

This study is testing whether a program of supportive text messages can help people who have survived head and neck cancer quit drinking alcohol. Drinking alcohol increases the risk of cancer returning. The study will enroll 138 survivors and randomly assign them to receive either standard advice or standard advice plus tailored text messages for three months. The main goal is to see if the text messages are helpful and acceptable, and to prepare for a larger future study.
