Skin patch testosterone tested as new weapon against tough prostate cancer

NCT ID NCT03734653

Summary

This early-stage study tested a new approach for men with advanced prostate cancer that has stopped responding to standard hormone-blocking therapy. Researchers wanted to see if it was practical and safe to give testosterone through a skin patch, alternating with a cancer drug called enzalutamide. The goal was to see if this method could control the cancer while potentially causing fewer side effects than testosterone injections.
