Summary
This study tested a new approach for people with spinal cord injury whose leg muscles have shrunk because the nerves are damaged. Researchers combined testosterone therapy with a special type of electrical stimulation to try to rebuild muscle size and improve health. The 12 participants received the treatment for up to a year, and the team measured changes in muscle mass and metabolism.
