Brain stimulation sync test aims to Fine-Tune Parkinson's therapy

NCT ID NCT07139093

First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated Apr 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests a new interface that synchronizes two types of brain stimulation—transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) and deep brain stimulation (DBS)—in people with Parkinson's disease. The goal is to see if the interface can precisely time the stimulation pulses and measure that with EEG. Only 2 participants are needed, and the study focuses on whether the technology works, not on treating symptoms.
