Hospitals test silent alarms to catch deadly sepsis sooner

NCT ID NCT05943938

Summary

This study aims to find the best computer tool for spotting sepsis early by comparing three different prediction algorithms. The tools will run quietly in the background of hospital records for 1,200 adult patients arriving at the emergency department, without doctors or patients seeing the predictions. The goal is to gather information on which tool is most accurate for future use, but it will not change any patient's treatment during this evaluation.
