First seen Nov 03, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special machine can restore moderately fatty donor livers so they can be safely transplanted. About 200 adults awaiting a liver transplant will receive a machine-treated liver. If successful, this approach could expand the number of usable donor organs and reduce waitlist deaths.
