Could a hidden killer be missed in heart failure patients?

NCT ID NCT07499661

Summary

This study aims to see if doctors are missing dangerous blood clots in the lungs of patients hospitalized for sudden heart failure. It will compare two approaches across multiple hospitals: usual care versus systematically testing all eligible patients for these clots. The goal is to determine if more consistent testing leads to earlier detection and better outcomes for about 740 patients.
