New stapler aims to seal the deal on dangerous colon leaks
NCT ID NCT07351071
Summary
This study is testing a specific surgical stapler to see how safe and effective it is for reconnecting the bowel after surgery on the left side of the colon or rectum. It will follow 137 patients to measure how often a dangerous complication called an 'anastomotic leak' happens after using this device. The main goal is to see if this stapler helps prevent leaks, which can lead to serious infections and more surgery.
