Could singing your trauma story help heal PTSD?

NCT ID NCT05853627

First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new approach to treat PTSD by weakening traumatic memories. Participants take propranolol (a blood pressure drug) before briefly recalling their trauma, sometimes in an unexpected way (like singing the story). The goal is to see if this 'mismatch' method reduces physical stress reactions more than standard recall. About 80 adults with high PTSD symptoms will be enrolled.
