Home workouts tested for Arthritis-Lung condition
NCT ID NCT07034989
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether a home-based exercise program, delivered online, could help people with rheumatoid arthritis who also have a lung condition called interstitial lung disease. Ten participants did breathing and trunk exercises via video. The goal was to see if it improved oxygen levels and ease of breathing. Because the study was very small and had no comparison group, the results are preliminary.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- telerehabilitation-assisted exercise training (respiratory physiotherapy and trunk stabilization exercises delivered via online platforms)
- What this could lead to
- If effective, this approach could offer a convenient, home-based way to improve breathing and physical function in people with rheumatoid arthritis-related lung disease.
- What could go wrong
- This was a very small study (10 participants) with no control group, so results may not be reliable or generalizable. The intervention is supportive, not a treatment for the underlying disease.
