Video calls aim to keep frail, elderly cancer patients out of the hospital
NCT ID NCT05619731
Summary
This study is testing whether video consultations with geriatric and pharmacy specialists can improve care for cancer patients aged 75 and older who live far from major hospitals. It aims to see if this remote support helps reduce unexpected trips back to the hospital and better manages treatment side effects. About 500 patients across France will be randomly assigned to receive either their usual cancer care or their usual care plus these specialized video consultations before starting treatment.
