Phone calls could help hypertensive patients avoid hospital visits

NCT ID NCT07412106

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether regular phone counseling can help adults with high blood pressure improve their self-care, such as taking medication correctly, eating well, and exercising. About 320 patients from teaching hospitals in Ethiopia will either receive usual care or get 10-15 minute phone sessions every two weeks for three months. The goal is to see if the phone support leads to better health habits and fewer emergency hospital visits.
