Summary

This study tests whether a telemedicine program that includes counseling can help people with HIV reduce unhealthy alcohol use. About 308 adults with HIV in Alabama who drink heavily will receive either brief advice or brief advice plus extra cognitive-behavioral therapy sessions by phone. The goal is to see if the extra counseling leads to less drinking and better HIV outcomes.
