First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tested a program that uses video calls (telemedicine) to connect children with asthma to their primary care doctor within a week of an emergency room visit. The goal was to help kids get the right daily preventive medications and reduce asthma attacks. The program included three follow-up telemedicine visits over a year to adjust treatment as needed. Researchers measured how many symptom-free days children had and whether preventive care improved.
