Can a video call replace a hospital visit for MND patients?
NCT ID NCT02464748
First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at whether a telehealth system could help people with motor neurone disease (MND) receive specialist care from home. MND is a rare condition that causes muscle weakness and makes it hard to travel to clinics. The study involved 77 patients and their carers, with half using the telehealth system for up to 18 months. The goal was to see if the system was practical and acceptable, not to test a treatment.
