Phone-Based counseling tested to curb drinking in liver patients

Summary

This study is testing whether a special telehealth program can help people with advanced liver disease drink less alcohol. About 180 participants will be randomly assigned to either receive several motivational phone counseling sessions or to continue with their usual medical care. Researchers will check in over a year to see if the program helps people reduce drinking and improves their liver health.
