Video teaching for dental sealants: just as good as the real thing?
NCT ID NCT07232797
First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tested whether dental interns can learn to place pit and fissure sealants (a coating that prevents cavities) just as well from a video as from a live demonstration. Fifty children aged 7-9 each had two molars treated by different interns trained either by video or in person. After 3 months, researchers checked if the sealants stayed in place and if there was any staining around the edges.
